One of the sides of the triangle is 0.6 times the length of the second, and the length of the third side is 1.2 times the length of the second. Find the sides of the triangle if its perimeter is 21 dm.

1. Suppose that the second side of the triangle is equal to x dm.

2. Then the first side of the triangle is (0.6 * x) = 0.6 x dm.

3. Therefore, the third side of the triangle is (1.2 * x) = 1.2x.

4. Let’s compose the equation and find out the length of the second side of the triangle if it is known that the perimeter of the triangle is 21 dm.

x + 0.6x + 1.2x = 21;

2.8x = 21;

x = 21 / 2.8;

x = 7.5 dm.

5. Find the length of the first side of the triangle.
