One of the sides of the triangle is 2 times smaller from the other and 7 cm smaller from the thirds. Find the sides of the triangle if the perimeter is 39 cm.

1) Let us find out what is the length of the second side, if we know that the first side is 2 times larger, and the third one is 7 cm longer than the second sum of the lengths of all sides 39 cm.We make an equation where:

X is the second side;

2X – first;

X + 7 – third;

39 is the sum of lengths.

X + 2X + X + 7 = 39;

4X + 7 = 39;

4X = 39 – 7;

4X = 32;

X = 32/4;

X = 8 cm.

2) Find out the length of the first side if it is 2 times larger than the second.

8 * 2 = 16 cm.

3) Determine what is the length of the third side, if it is 7 cm longer than the second.

8 + 7 = 15 cm.

Answer: the lengths of the sides of the triangle were 8 cm, 16 cm and 15 cm.
