| One rectangular section is 36 meters long and 20 meters wide. Find the width of another section with the same area, if its length is 6 meters less than the first section.
First, we will find the area of the first section.
S = a * b, where a is the length of the section, b is the width of the section. We get:
S = 36 * 20 = 720 (m²).
According to the condition of the problem, the area of the second section is equal to the area of the first, and the length is a = 36 – 6 = 30 (m).
Knowing the area and length, we calculate the width of the site:
720 = 30 * b,
b = 720: 30,
b = 24 (m).
Answer: 24 meters.
