One side of a parallelogram is 6 cm longer than the other. The parallelogram’s parallelogram is 40 cm. Find the sides of the parallelogram

Let us denote by a the length of the shorter side of this parallelogram.

In the initial data for this task, it is reported that the large side of this parallelogram is half a dozen centimeters larger than its smaller side, therefore, the length of the larger side is 6 + cm.

Also in the condition of the problem it is said that if you add up the lengths of all four sides of a given quadrangle, the result will be 40 cm, therefore, we can make the following equation:

a + 6 + a + a + 6 + a = 40,

solving which, we get:

4a + 12 = 40;

(4a + 12) / 4 = 40/4;

a + 3 = 10;

a = 10 – 3 = 7 cm.

Finding the other side:

a + 6 = 7 + 6 = 13 cm.

Answer: the lengths of the sides are 7 cm and 13 cm.
