One side of the rectangle is 17cm, the other 11cm less. Find the perimeter of the rectangle?

The perimeter of the rectangle is calculated using the formula:
P = 2a + 2b.
Let’s find the sum of all sides of such a figure, provided that the length is 17 cm and the width is 11 cm less, by writing the expression:
P = 2 * 17 + 2 * (17 – 11). First of all, we find the value in brackets, then we do the multiplication and only then the addition:
P = 34 + 2 * 6 = 34 + 12 = 46 cm.
