One side of the rectangle is 3.5 cm. The area of the rectangle is 7.84 cm. Find the other side of the rectangle.

1) A rectangle is a quadrangle in which two opposite sides are equal and all four corners are the same. The long side of the rectangle is called the length of the rectangle (a), and the short side is called the width of the rectangle (b).

2) The area of a rectangle is the space bounded by the sides of the rectangle, that is, within the perimeter of the rectangle. S = a * b.

3) From the condition we know the area S = 7.84 and the side a = 3.5. We express side b from the area formula and get: b = S / a = 7.84 / 3.5 = 2.24 cm.
