| 1) Determine the length of the second side of the rectangle given to us, if we know that its perimeter was 201 cm, and one side of it has a length of 40 cm.We draw up an equation where:
X is the second side.
2 * (X + 40) = 201;
2X + 80 = 201;
2X = 201 – 80;
2X = 121;
X = 121/2;
X = 60.5 cm.
2) Find the area of a given rectangle if we know that its sides are 40 cm and 60.5 cm.
60.5 * 40 = 2420 cm².
Answer: the area of this rectangle was 2420 cm².
