| 1) Calculate the length of the smaller side of the rectangle if the larger side is 11 cm (a = 11 cm) and one of the sides is 8 cm larger than the other: b = a – 8 = 11 – 8 = 3 cm.
2) Calculate the area of the rectangle: S = a * b = 11 * 3 = 33 cm2.
3) Calculate the perimeter of the rectangle: P = 2 * (a + b) = 2 * (11 + 3) = 2 * 14 = 28 cm.
Answer: S = 33 cm2; P = 28 cm.
