| One warehouse has 185 tons of coal, and another 237 tons. The first warehouse released 15 tons of coal every day, and the second – 18 tons. In how many days will there be 1.5 times more coal in the second warehouse than in the first?
Let’s compose a system of equations:
1.5 * (185 – 15x) = (237 – 18x), where x is the number of days.
Let’s transform the expression:
277.5 – 22.5x = 237 – 18x;
40.5 = 4.5x;
x = 9.
Answer: the second warehouse will have one and a half times more coal in 9 days.
