The earth’s crust is studied by geologists and surveyors. The purpose of the study is to find natural resources, water, sources of oil and gas. One category of these scientists is studying fossils in order to study the structure of the lithosphere and determine the age of the earth. Another category of scientists uses the information obtained to organize industrial facilities and places for resource extraction.
