Periodization of history in ancient Greece.

The history of Ancient Greece is unique in world history as the first period confirmed directly in correct historiography, whereas earlier ancient history or protohistory does not have extensive written evidence, such as annals or lists of kings, and pragmatic epigraphy.
The history of Greece has 4 periods: Archaic period (Crete-Mycenaean end of the end of III-II millennium BC), Classical Greece (V-IV centuries BC), Hellenistic Greece (IV-I centuries BC), Roman Greece (after the conquest of Greece by Rome from 146 AD).
