Plains of North America.

The plains of North America are primarily the interior plains of the continent, the so-called “Central High Plains” and “Great Plains”, which occupy an area of 2 million 940 thousand km. sq. and are located mainly in the central states of the United States and partially in Canada.
The Great Plains (in English “Great Plains”) is a foothill plateau that is located in the United States and Canada and extends from north to south from 29 to 62 north latitude. Their length is 3600 km, width – about 500-800 km. In the west, they adjoin the North American Cordillera mountain systems (the Rocky Mountains), and in the east, the central High Plains, which adjoin the Appalachian Mountains. The latter in the south pass into the Mexican lowland. The Missouri Plateau, the Llano Estacado Plateau and the Edwards are also distinguished here.
