Plants are divided into 2 groups depending on the need for light energy.

Depending on the need for light energy, plants are divided into two groups:

– Light-loving or heliophytes (those that grow in the sun and need it);

For example: pine, cactus, apple tree.

Light-loving plants usually reach for the sun, such as beans or sunflowers. Also, adult heliophytes are more light-loving than young ones.

– Shade-tolerant (those that do not need a huge consumption of sunlight and can be without it, grow in the shade).

For example: sugar maple, cucumber, parsley.
