| Point K is marked on segment AB. Find the length of segment AB if AK = 45 cm, segment KB is shorter than segment AK by m cm. Simplify the resulting expression and calculate its value if: a) m = 24; b) m = 44.
Since the segment KB is shorter than the segment AK by m cm, its length will be equal to:
KB = 45 – m cm.
The length of the segment AB is equal to the sum of the lengths of the segments AK and KB:
AB = 45 + (45 – m) = 90 – m cm.
Let’s calculate its value:
a) m = 24 cm.
AB = 90 – 24 = 66 cm.
b) m = 44 cm.
AB = 90 – 44 = 46 cm.
