Point M and K, respectively, are the midpoints of the sides AB and BC of the triangle ABC

Point M and K, respectively, are the midpoints of the sides AB and BC of the triangle ABC, MB = 6, MK = 5, BC = 14cm. Find the perimeter of triangle ABC.

MK – the middle line of the triangle ABC, since M divides the AB side in half and K divides the BC side in half.
Then we find the following sides:
AB = 2 * MВ;
AB = 6 * 2;
AB = 12 (cm), thus BM – 1/2 AB.
Now we find the AC:
AC = 2 * MK;
AC = 10 (cm), since the middle line of the triangle is equal to half of its base.
We can now find the perimeter:
P = AB + BC + AC;
Let’s substitute:
P = 12 + 10 + 14;
P = 36 (cm).
Answer: P = 36 cm.
