Position relative to the equator of Africa.

The continent of Africa lies right on the equator line. This continent is divided into two roughly equal parts by the equator. This location of Africa, together with its flat relief, make this continent the hottest. This is due to the fact that the hottest natural zones, equatorial, subequatorial and tropical, in Africa are repeated twice, on both sides of the equator. And this, in turn, leads to the fact that most of the continent is occupied by deserts and savannas.
