The positive consequences of the development of virgin lands were the fact that more than 40 million hectares of land were reclaimed and cultivated, which made it possible to collect record harvests. The negative side of such land development was that the cultivation of land took place without adhering to elementary agrarian norms, and therefore, this became the cause of soil erosion.
