Power source of the Ganges river.

The sources of the Ganges are located in the Himalayas, where there are huge glaciers. It is they who give the first streams, which make up about 1/6 of the total final river supply. Most of the tributaries of the Ganges also originate in the mountains at a fairly high altitude. At the same time, the Himalayas are an excellent barrier for clouds and cyclones. Therefore, a large amount of precipitation falls in the foothills. They are the main source of food for the extremely full-flowing river. And that is why streams, rivulets and rivers flow down from the mountains in large numbers.
