Properties of acids and methods of preparation.

Acid properties:
1. Diluted acids taste sour.
2. They turn wet blue litmus paper into red.
3. Some acids are corrosive, however this is not a common property.
4. Most acids are solid.
5. More reactive metals such as Zn, Mg, Al and Fe react with acids to release hydrogen.
6. Stronger and less volatile acids displace weaker and more volatile acids from their salts.
7. Acids react with bases or alkalis to form salts and water.
