2) Kings give cities privileges and protection to reduce the influence of feudal lords;

3) In the period from the 13th to the 15th century, the lands of France are united under the rule of the king;

4) At the end of the 15th century, during the reign of Louis 11, France completed its unification. At the same time, an absolute monarchy was established. Feudal lords lose their power and become subjects of the king.
