Reaction of polyhydric alcohols with ethanol.

Reactions of polyhydric alcohols:
1) ethyl alcohol C2 H12 O6 right arrow C2 H5 (minus degree) OH + CO2
2) CH2 + KOH right arrow C2 H5 (minus degree) OH
3) reaction with ethanol C2 H5 OH
Polyhydric alcohols are classified into dihydric and polyhydric alcohols. Ethylene glycol is diatomic, and glycerol is triatomic.
Also, polyhydric alcohols interact with alkali metals, with Cu (OH) 2. The chemical properties include the reaction of oxidation and combustion. There are also other reactions with alcohols.
