Reasons for the reformation in Europe.

The main reason for the Reformation in Europe is the unlimited power of the Catholic Church. Its priests taught the common people to live according to the law of God, although they themselves did not always adhere to it. They were not ashamed of wealth, extorted people to pay taxes on the church, and forbade reading the Bible. The most ungodly deed was considered to be the sale of indulgences: documents according to which one could buy off sins for a certain fee. The church also supported feudal dependence, which was painful for the common population. All dissidents were burned at the stake as “heretics”. The people got tired of enduring it and society was on the verge of the Reformation era.
