Religious policy of the Russian state in the 18th century.

Since the beginning of the 18th century, religious policy has moved from intolerance to separate directions (Islam, Judaism, Catholicism) towards tolerance.

Thanks to this, in many provinces of the Russian Empire, Jews were allowed to legally engage in merchants, to establish their own craft.

The first official organizations of Muslims and Jews were established in the country.

The government began to hold inter-confessional meetings with representatives of different religions, to conduct active missionary activities.
