Respiratory system organs in frogs and tadpoles?

The respiratory system of tadpoles and adult frogs is different, since the former live in the aquatic environment, and the latter – in the terrestrial-air and aquatic environment. Tadpoles have gills, like fish. They pass water through the gills and receive oxygen, which is dissolved in the water. They remove carbon dioxide into the water. Over time, the gills of tadpoles overgrow. An adult frog does not have them. She breathes through her lungs and the surface of her skin. When a frog submerges in water, it uses the air in its lungs.
