Results and causes of the Russian-Iranian war.
The Russian-Iranian or Russian-Persian wars are long-term conflicts between the emperor and the emir in 1803-1812 and 1826-1828, from which Russia emerged victorious.
So, the main reasons for military campaigns were:
the monarch tried to gain a foothold in the Caspian basin because of the abundance of resources in the Caucasus;
Nicholas strove to regulate the borders of the Empire in Asia – to strengthen them;
Russia did not want to admit the British cabinet to Iran and Afghanistan, at the same time London – sought by all means to take over these states.
The result of the Russian-Persian troops was the annexation of part of Dagestan, Armenia, Azerbaijan to the possessions of the Russian emperor; the weakening of London in the Middle East; settlement of diplomatic and financial disputes between the emperor and the emir.
