Salt hydrolysis. What is the reaction of the medium in aqueous solutions of the following salts: aluminum chloride, potassium nitrate, ammonium acetate, sodium sulfite?

Salts formed by weak acids and bases undergo hydrolysis. Among the compounds AlCl3, KNO3, CH3COONH4, Na2SO3, KNO3 is not hydrolyzed, since this salt is formed by a strong acid and a strong base. The medium of the KNO3 solution is neutral.

KNO3 = K + + NO3-
