Segment AB = 3.5, between points A and C = 1.5 cm. find the length of the segment which is equal to the difference between the segments AB and AC.

It is known that the segment AB = 3.5 cm.

Since, between points A and C is equal to 1.5 cm, it means that point C is inside the segment AB, at a distance of 1.5 cm from point A.

Hence, AC = 1.5 cm.

Then, we find the length of the segment СВ.

SV = AB – AC = 3.5 cm – 1.5 cm = 2 cm.

From here we find that the length of the segment CB, the difference between the segments AB and AC is equal to 2 cm.

Answer: CB = AB – AC = 2 cm.
