Since when has the Athenian Acropolis existed?

The Acropolis of Athens is a very ancient structure, it was built around the beginning of the 2nd millennium BC. Back in the Cretan-Mycenaean period around the 13th century BC, a large palace was built on this site. We can say that the history of the Athenian Acropolis began long before the onset of the classical period in the history of Greece. The Acropolis itself is built on a 156 meter high hill.
