| 1. Let’s calculate the chemical amount of oxygen:
n (O2) = m (O2): M (O2) = 6: 32 = 0.1875 mol,
2.since under the same conditions equal amounts of gases occupy the same volume, the chemical amount of sulfur oxide (IV):
n (SO2) = n (O2) = 0.1875 mol;
3.Calculate the mass of SO2:
m (SO2) = n (SO2) * M (SO2);
M (SO2) = 32 + 2 * 16 = 64 g / mol;
m (SO2) = 0.1875 * 64 = 12 g.
Answer: 12 g.
