State the reason for the fall of the Byzantine Empire.

One of the main reasons for the fall of Byzantium was the invasion of the Seljuk Turks. During the 14-15th century in the east, the power of the Seljuks was constantly growing. Soon they began to seize the lands of the Byzantine Empire itself, until almost all the territories were captured. Only Constantinople itself remained unoccupied, but already in 1453 it fell under the pressure of the Seljuk troops. This event caused the end of an entire era.
