Structural components of the cell.

Cells can be very different depending on their function as well as the type of cell. There are prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. What they have in common is that they have a cell membrane, cytoplasm and organelles. Organelles of prokaryotes do not have membranes. In the course of evolution, eukaryotes received membrane structures such as the nucleus, mitochondria, vacuoles, plastids and many others. Ribosomes belong to non-membrane structures, therefore they are found both in the cells of prokaryotes and in the cells of eukaryotic organisms.
