Substances are given: BaO, SiO2, SO3, Cu, Na, Hg. With which of them does water enter into chemical reactions? Write down the equations of possible reactions.

Water reacts with basic oxides to form a soluble base; with acid oxides, forming acid, as well as with alkali metals, forming a soluble base and hydrogen gas.
1. BaO + H2O = Ba (OH) 2 (soluble barium hydroxide)
2. SiO2, acidic oxide, but does not react with water, as it is sand.
3. SO3 + H2O = H2SO4 (sulfuric acid)
4. Cu and Hg are not alkali metals, therefore they do not react with water.
5.2Na + 2H2O = 2 NaOH + H2 (soluble sodium hydroxide and hydrogen)
