Tell us about the political structure of the Lithuanian state and the religious policy of its first princes.

The Lithuanian prince did not pursue the goal of establishing strict control over the annexed lands. They have preserved their customs and traditions, the old order of government. Gediminas replaced only the rulers, seating on the local thrones, which were previously occupied by Russian princes, his relatives – the Gediminids. The governors-princes collected ti and paid tribute to the Grand Duke of Lithuania. Gediminas, remaining a pagan, did not infringe on the rights of the Orthodox Church.
