There are different ways to study the atmosphere. The simplest ancient one is observing the state of the sky. By the type of clouds, meteorologists can determine what processes occur in the atmosphere and what weather changes they will lead to. Meteorological stations have instruments that measure atmospheric pressure, wind strength and direction, air humidity and temperature. The upper atmosphere is studied using meteorological probes. This is a large balloon to which the instruments are attached. The atmosphere can be studied from the space station. This is how cloud cover and the movement of atmospheric vortices are monitored.
