2. We take the length of the side AB as x, the length of the side AD as y.
Let’s make two equations:
x / y = 3/4; x = 3y / 4;
2 (x + y) = 70; x + y = 35.
3. Substitute the value x = 3y / 4 into the second equation:
3y / 4 + y = 35;
(3y + 4y) 4 = 35;
7y = 140;
y = 20; Substitute y = 20 into the second equation:
x + 20 = 35;
x = 15.
AD = 20 centimeters.
AB = 15 centimeters.
Answer: AD = 20 centimeters – the large side of the ABCD parallelogram.
