The adoption of Christianity by the Slavic peoples in the Czech Republic.

The state of Great Moravia was located on the territory of modern Czech Republic. Initially, the preaching of Christianity among the Slavs by Saints Cyril and Methodius was launched in this country.
In 863 the Moravian prince Rostislav turned to the Byzantine emperor with a request. He himself had already been baptized (in 1994 he was canonized as the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Rostislav Velikomoravsky). Now the holy prince asked Byzantium to send a Christian bishop and preachers to his people.
The adoption of Christianity by Great Moravia influenced not only the scattered tribes of the Slavs living in Central and Southeastern Europe, but also paved the way for the Christianization of the Hungarians who came to Europe from the Urals.
