The angle at the apex of the isosceles triangle is obtuse. The two sides of the triangle are 10 cm and 9 cm. Find the perimeter of the triangle.
In the triangle, opposite the larger angle, lies the larger side. Because by condition, the angle at the base is obtuse (the largest in the triangle), then the base will be larger than the lateral side and will be 10 cm.The lateral sides of an isosceles triangle are 9 cm.
Find the perimeter of the triangle:
P = 10 + 9 * 2 = 10 + 18 = 28 cm.
