The appearance of the first supporters of the Reformation in France.

The Reformation in France began to spread quite early in the late 15th century. The then movement aimed at reformation was called the Huguenots. However, the Huguenot movement in France was unable to succeed. Especially considering the events of St. Bartholomew’s Night, when about 3 thousand Huguenots were killed. One of the brightest representatives of Calvinism (as the Huguenots later called themselves) was John Calvin. He is considered to be the founder of the Reformation in France.
