The perimeter of a rectangle is the sum of all sides of the rectangle.
1) Find the unknown side of the rectangle. To do this, divide the area of the rectangle by the known area of the rectangle:
63: 7 = 9 (cm) – the second side of the rectangle.
2) Find the perimeter of the rectangle:
7 + 7 + 9 + 9 = 32 (cm) – the perimeter of the rectangle.
Answer: The perimeter of the rectangle is 32 cm.
