| 1. A, B, C, D – the vertices of the rectangle. S – area. AD is 3 times more than AB.
2. AD = 3AB.
3. To calculate the lengths of the sides of a rectangle, we use the formula for calculating its area:
S = AD x AB = 75 centimeters².
4. Substitute in this expression 3AB instead of AD:
3AB x AB = 75 centimeters².
3АВ² = 75 centimeters².
AB² = 25 centimeters².
AB = √25 = 5 centimeters.
AD = 5 x 3 = 15 centimeters.
Answer: the sides of the rectangle are AD = BC = 15 centimeters, AB = CD = 5 centimeters.
