| Let’s denote the area S, sides a, b.
S = 18 cm ^ 2;
a = 6 cm;
b =? cm.
The area of a right-angled triangle is half the product of the legs (sides forming a right angle). S = (ab) / 2.
Substitute the known values: S = 18 cm ^ 2, a = 6 cm.
18 = (6 * b) / 2;
6 * b = 18 * 2;
6 * b = 36;
b = 36/6;
b = 6.
So the second leg is 6 cm.
