The area of one face of a cube is 16 cm2.
All the edges of the cube are equal in size to each other and are found by the formula a = √S, where S is the face area:
a = √S = √16 = 4 centimeters.
We calculate the volume of the cube by the formula V = a * a * a:
V = a * a * a = 4 * 4 * 4 = 64 cm3.
Answer: the edge is 4 centimeters; the volume is 64 cm3.
