The area of the rectangle is 1000 m2, one side is 50 m2. Find the perimeter of the sides of the rectangle.

| From the very beginning, let’s remember what formula is needed to calculate the area of a rectangle:
S = a * b,
where S is the area of the rectangle,
a – its length,
b is its width.
From the above formula, we can express the unknown second side of the rectangle (b):
b = S: a.
Now, using the formula we derived, we define the 2nd side:
b = 1000: 5O = 2O (m).
Knowing the lengths of both sides of the rectangle, we calculate its perimeter:
P = 2 * (a + b) = 2 * (5O + 2O) = 2 * 7O = 14O (m).
Answer: P = 14O m.
