3. Take the length of the AB side as x. Side length AD – 7x / 4.
4. Make an equation, considering that the S of the rectangle is equal to 112 centimeters².
7x / 4 x x = 112;
7x² / 4 = 112;
7x² = 112 x 4;
x² = 16 x 4;
x = √16 x 4 = 8.
AB = 8 centimeters.
AD = 7 x 8: 4 = 14 centimeters.
Answer: AB = 8 centimeters, AD = 14 centimeters.
