The axial section of the cone is an isosceles triangle, the sides of which are equal to the generatrix of the cone L, the base is equal to the diameter of the base of the cone D. If the axial section of the cone is a regular triangle with a side equal to 6 cm, then
L = D = 6 cm.
The radius is half the diameter:
R = D / 2 = 3 cm.
The lateral surface of the cone is determined by the formula:
Side = nRL = n * 3 * 6 = 18п ≈ 56.55 cm2.
