In order to answer the question of the problem, namely to find the middle line of a trapezoid, we will first of all remember and apply the formula for finding the middle line of a trapezoid.
To find the middle line, we must divide the sum of the base lengths by 2. So, the formula looks like this:
m = (a + b) / 2;
The lengths of the bases of the trapezoid are not known from the condition and they are equal to 6 and 12 cm.
It remains for us to substitute them only in the formula and make calculations.
m = (6 + 12) / 2 = 18/2 = 9 cm length of the middle line of the trapezoid.
Answer: 9 cm.
