The base of the straight prism is a triangle with sides 15cm, 37cm and 44cm. Prism height 10cm. Find the side surface of the prism.
The side surface of such a prism will be three rectangles, each with sides 15 cm and 10 cm, 37 cm and 10 cm, and 44 cm and 10 cm.
1st solution. We define three areas of rectangles according to their given sides, sum up, and get the area C side:
Side = 15 cm * 10 cm + 37 cm * 10 cm + 44 cm * 10 cm = 150 cm² + 370 cm² + 440 cm² = 960 cm².
2nd solution.
1. Calculate the perimeter of the base Posn = 15 cm + 37 cm + 44 cm = 96 cm.
2. Calculate the area of the lateral surface Side = P main * 10 = 96 cm * 10 cm = 960 cm².
