The birth of democracy in Athens occurred during the reign of the prominent politician Solon (7-6 centuries BC). At one time, thanks to his reforms, which abolished debt slavery and equalized the rights of the nobility with the common population, Athens was able to become a democratic state. Since now all state issues were decided at the People’s Assembly, where every free citizen could take part.
