| Given:
v = 36 kilometers per hour – body speed;
r = 2 meters – the radius of the circle along which the body moves.
It is required to determine a (centripetal) – centripetal acceleration of the body.
Let’s convert the units of measurement of speed from kilometers per hour to meters per second:
v = 36 km / h = 36 * 10/36 = 360/36 = 10 meters per second.
Then the centripetal acceleration will be equal to:
a = v ^ 2 / r = 10 ^ 2/2 = 100/2 = 50 meters per second squared.
Answer: the centripetal acceleration of the body is 50 m / s2.
