| The body moves uniformly with no initial velocity. How long will it move in the same direction as at the initial moment, if V0x = 20 m / s, ax = -4 m / s?
To find the duration of the body’s movement in the original direction until it stops (movement in the opposite direction), we will use the formula: t = (V – V0х) / a.
Variable values: V – final speed (V = 20 m / s); V0х – speed at the beginning of time counting (V0x = 20 m / s); a – acceleration (a = -4 m / s2).
Calculation: t = (V – V0х) / a = (0 – 20) / (-4) = 5 s.
Answer: The body will move in the original direction for 5 seconds.
